About Word Nerds

What we make

We create writing tools, word finders, language games, puzzles, and other small things for people who enjoy words. Some are designed to solve a problem. Others are made simply because playing with language is worthwhile.

Where we came from

Word Nerds began more than ten years ago as an idea for a boutique creative writing agency offering writing, editing, proofreading, and research. Its early work ranged from proofreading ebooks and researching startups to writing articles and advertising copy. Over time, that original idea evolved into something broader: a place where useful tools, creative experiments, and a love of language could live together.

Humans and AI

We use artificial intelligence to help design and build some of our tools and games, and we believe in being transparent about it. AI is part of our process, but Word Nerds is created by humans, for humans. The final decisions—what we make, how it works, and what appears on the site—are human ones.

Word Notes

We also publish Word Notes, the Word Nerds blog about words, writing, language, dictionaries, word games, and what we're learning as the site grows.
